I am a Sociologist, Labor Researcher, and PhD Candidate
Hi, I'm Katy, a sociology Ph.D. candidate and Paul F. Lazarsfeld Fellow at Columbia University. I use quantitative and qualitative methods to study why bad jobs exist, what they look like, and how to end them.
I am a graduate research fellow at the Columbia Labor Lab, the Columbia Center for Political Economy, and part of the Worker Empowerment Research Network based between the Cornell ILR School and MIT Sloan.
Previously I worked as a strategic researcher in the labor movement. I graduated from Cornell University with a B.S. in Industrial and Labor Relations and a minor in Near Eastern Studies. I speak English, Arabic, and some Spanish.
